I've always been very aware of how incredibly fortunate I am to

have grown up the way that I did. I have supportive and loving parents and an amazing brother, and I've always been grateful for them and the home they have given me. One of the greatest lessons my parents taught me when I was younger was to always remember exactly how lucky I am. They taught me to look at our community and the members who aren't as fortunate as we are, and to find a way - however small - to help and to give back.

When I was in high school I had a classmate with a disability. His tenacity and perseverance with which he came to school every day is something that I've never forgotten. Even after all these years, I still remember how he managed to overcome what is seen in our society as something that limits your quality of life. To this day, it breaks my heart to think about how various members of society are affected by issues they didn't choose, issues that they have no say in, and sometimes issues that they can't change at all.

From an early age, my parents taught me to always look beyond myself, and as an adult this has translated into donations that I have made to various charities and organizations in Belgium. However, as I've expanded my own business ventures, I now feel fortunate to be able to help on a larger scale, and this is how the idea of the Beerens Foundation was born.

I want to help my community in whatever way I can, and do my best to make life a little easier for the members of society who need it most. And I would love to do that together with you.

BEERENS

MEET PIERRE

MEET MALLIKA

Pierre Beerens was born and raised just outside of Brussels. He graduated from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2017 with a Master's Degree in Applied Economics, and watching his father build a small real estate brokerage was the motivation for him to enter the domain himself. Pierre has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, having dipped his toes into various ventures during his university studies, so it came as no surprise to his friends and family when he decided to establish the Beerens Foundation. However, he knew that he would only move forward with the idea if he found the perfect partner. Someone he could trust completely, and most importantly, someone with whom he shares the same values in life. Only one person came to mind, and that person was Mallika.

Mallika D'Huys was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1991. She grew up in Africa and Asia until she moved to Belgium with her family at the age of fourteen.
As the daughter of a diplomat and filmmaker, a career in communications and public relations was a logical choice.
From a young age, Mallika has always been passionate about helping people and adding value to her community, making her decision to join the Beerens Foundation an easy and logical one.
